The Brunei Islamic Religious
Council (MUIB) presented
Zakat
assistance to two underprivileged
families yesterday.
Acting Secretary of the Brunei
Islamic Religious Council Haji
Abdul Aziz bin Haji Akop handed
over the assistance.
Hussaini bin Mohd Hassan, an
air-condition repairman, received
air-conditioning maintenance
equipment at his home in Jalan Ban
6, Kampong Mulaut.
Meanwhile, local isherman
Awang bin Matsidik received a boat
and engine.
Awang and Husaini conveyed
their appreciation to His Majesty
Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah
Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-
Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali
Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien,
Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of
Brunei Darussalam and MUIB.
MUIB presented
Zakat
assistance
of BND13,860.70 to both recipients.

The Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) in
collaboration with the Perbadanan
Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Per-
badanan TAIB) organised the
Buku
PanduanMenghadapiWabak Penyakit
handover ceremony at PDI’s Conven-
tion Hall in Kampong Pulaie.
Guest of honour, Acting Director
of PDI Abdul Aziz binHaji Abdul Kahar
presented copies of the book to 50
representatives.
Representatives from Perbadanan
TAIB, several government agencies,
higher education institution librar-
ies, technical education, secondary
schools, primary schools, religious
and Arabic schools, mosque Takmir
committee and senior oficers from
PDI were also present.
The event began with the recita-
tion of
Sayyidul Istighfar
and
Surah
Al-Fatihah
by Assistant Islamic De-
velopment Oficer Muhd Safwan bin
Mohd Sufian. The event proceeded
with a remark from Senior Religious
Oficer and event’s Assistant Chair-
man Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin
Haji Abdul Rahman.
The book contains the
Kai iat
of
sunnat Taubah
prayer as well as a
collection of
Doa, Zikir, Selawat
and
Ayat-Ayat Syifa
.
The book includes the efforts and
Sunnah
practices taught by Prophet
Muhammad (pbuh) in preventing
and controlling spread of diseases
including maintaining cleanliness,
food and drink safety and prevent-
ing harm. Also included are the
State Mufti’s
Fatwa
on several issues
regarding the pandemic.

The event was held to express
gratitude for the blessing upon the
nation’s success that Allah the Al-
mighty has bestowed in tackling the
COVID19 outbreak from spreading.
The Brunei Students’ Union in the
United Kingdom and Eire (BSUnion)
council members organised a
‘Society Funday’ at Muara Beach
last Sunday.
Some 80 students of Bruneian
university societies from different
parts of the United Kingdom (UK)
participated.
Several activities including
sandcastle building,
selipar tiga
dodgeball, tic-tac-toe relays and
blindfolded cotton-scooping
were held.
The event strengthened ties
among participants.
It also provided a venue for
students to learn more about their
societies and gain insight about
life abroad prior to departure to
the UK.
