BSP HANDS OVER TREASURE TROVE OF MEMORIES

The Department of Fisheries under theMinistry
of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT)
has issued a public advisory after receiving
a red tide alert from the neighbouring state
of Sabah.
Based on the information from the Sabah
Fisheries Department, red tide toxin has been
detected in the coastal waters off Kampong
Binsulok in Membakut.
As a precautionary measure, the public is
advised not to consume any type of shellish
and small ish from the affected areas or
places of unknown origin, particularly ish
with gills, entrails and internal organs that
cannot be removed.
The public is also reminded to remove the
gills, entrails and internal organs of a ish, prior
to cooking.
Amonitoring carried out by the Department
of Fisheries has indicated that Brunei waters
are free from the red tide phenomenon, but
the department will continue to monitor the
situation and keep the public informed on the
latest developments.
To report occurrences of red tide,
changes in the colour of water or amounts
of dead ish in Brunei coastal waters and
beaches, contact 2770066 (ofice hours) or
7297771 (hotline).

An Indonesian woman will learn her fate
tomorrow after admitting yesterday to
cheating people off their gold (worth
over BND30,000) and money (in excess
of BND60,000).
Prosecutors inalised the charges to
17 counts against Susanti binti Joko of
attempting to buy a lottery ticket on July
4 at a building in Kampong Bengkurong;
overstaying from September 2019 to June
29, 2020; and scamming people into
believing she could invest their gold and
money in an investment scheme.

to have fun with their families. The new venue
will cover a distance of 5.20km, which will
allow visitors and cyclists to attempt more
challenging routes instead of being limited to
the existing one.
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Youth and
Sports) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and
Sports Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin
Pengiran Haji Said highlighted this at a press
brieing yesterday.
“This move is also intended tomake it easier
for

visitors to use parking
space in the vicinity of the Hassanal Bolkiah
National Sports Complex, to enliven the
atmosphere of the Hassanal Bolkiah National
Sports Complex area with beneicial activities,
and as a starting/inishing point for any related
activity using the
Bandarku Ceria
programme
as a platform,” he said.
“Since 2016, the
BandarkuCeria
programme
has been held every Sunday from 6am to
10am. The programme aims to enliven the
Bandar Seri Begawan atmosphere into that
of a dynamic and vibrant city, while allowing
people to relax and enjoy the morning
ambience on Sundays.”
Senior Special Duties Oficer at the
Department of Agriculture and Agrifood
Saidin bin Namit announced the opening of
a local market this Sunday called the
Pasar
Kitani
programme, starting from 6am, near
the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
“Over 40 farmers will sell fresh farm
produce in the
Pasar Kitani
programme,”
he said.
Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Maiddin added,
“The additional venue for the
Bandarku Ceria
programme will cover a distance of 5.20km
and include Jalan Menteri Besar, starting
from the roundabout of the Prime Minister’s
Ofice until the trafic light cross-junction in
front of the Ministry of Primary Resources and
Tourism (MPRT).
“It also includes Jalan Pusat Persidangan,
by turning left from the trafic light cross-
junction in front of the MPRT, past the National
Football Association of Brunei Darussalam
(NFABD) building, turning left into Jalan
Stadium and turning right to the main stairs
of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.”
He said that roads closed to the public
would include a section of Jalan Menteri Besar
facing Edinburgh Palace and the trafic light
T-junction of Jalan Stadium leading towards
the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
