The hoisting of a giant-sized Brunei
Darussalam national lag marked
the start of nationwide celebrations
for the 74th birthday of His Majesty
Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah

Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali
Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien,
Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of
Brunei Darussalam.

Haji Apong, who is also the Chair-
person of the Executive Commit-
tee for His Majesty’s 74th Birthday
Celebration, was guest of honour
in the ceremony at the open area
of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal
Bolkiah Complex yesterday.

Committee for His Majesty’s 74 th
Birthday Celebration and districts
of icers of each district were also in
attendance.
The lag measuring 3.7m by
7.5m was hoisted by 20 Royal Bru-
nei Navy personnel accompanied
by the national anthem Allah Peli-
harakan Sultan.
The guest of honour then pre-
sented the national lags and post-
ers to the district of icers - Brunei-
Muara District Of icer Misle bin Haji
Abdul Karim, Belait District Of icer
Ramlee bin Haji Jamudin, Tutong
District Of icer Shamsul Bahrin bin
Haji Mohd Hussain and Acting Tem-
