The inals of the National Level Al-Quran

Memorisation

and

Its

Understanding

Competition for 1441 Hijrah was carried out

over two days, May 56, at the Institut Tah iz

Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Hall.

In adherence to the guidelines set by the

Ministry of Health (MoH) amid the COVID19

outbreak, the competition was held in the

presence of a small audience.

Chairman of the judges Pengiran Haji

Haslin bin Pengiran Haji Ali, in his brie ings,

said the judges were very satis ied with this

year’s competition in light of the COVID19

outbreak in the country.

“This goes to show that the participants

were dedicated to the memorisation of Al-

Quran. Therefore, I hope that the country will

always be blessed by Allah the Almighty with

all these

Huffaz

,” he said.

The event attracted some 352 participants

in ive categories.

In Category A, participants aged 13 and

below were required to memorise

Surah-

Surah Pilihan

from 30

Juzuks

, including

Surah

Al-Muthaf if in

,

Surah Al-Insyiqaaq

,

Surah

Al-Buruuj, Surah Ath-Taariq, Surah Al-A’laa,

Surah Al-Ghaasyiyah, Surah Al-Fajr, Surah

Al-Balad, Surah Asy-Syams

and

Surah Al-Lail

.

In this category, participants also needed to

memorise the compilation of

Surah-Surah

Lazim

starting from

Surah Adh-Dhuhaa

until

Surah An-Naas

and the understanding

of

Surah An-Naba’, Surah An-Nazi’at, Surah

Abasa, Surah At-Takwir

and

Surah Al-In ithar

.

In Category B, participants aged 14 and

above had to memorise

Surah Al-Kah i, Surah

Luqman, Surah As-Sajdah, Surah Ar-Rahmaan,

Surah Al-Waqi’ah, Surah Al-Mulk, Surah Al-

Insaan, Surah Yaasiin

and

Surah Jiin

along

with the understanding of

Surah Al-Jumu’ah

and

Surah An-Nuur

.

In Category C, participants were required

to memorise three

Juzuks of Al-Quran

- from

Juzuk 1 to Juzuk 3

- and the understanding

of

Surah An-Nisaa’

. Category D featured

the memorisation of 15

Juzuks of Al-Quran -

Juzuk 1 to Juzuk 15

- and the understanding

of

Surah Maryam

and

Surah Thaha

. Category

E required participants to memorise

30

Juzuks of Al-Quran

and the understanding

of

Surah Asy-Syura, Surah Az-Zukhruf, Surah

Ad-Dukhan

and

Surah Al-Jatsiah

. All three

categories were open to all ages.

The winner in Category A was Nur’Aliyah

Amani binti Muhammad Al-Ameen with a

score of 97.43 per cent. In second and third

places were Amal ‘Aziah binti Muhammad

Saiful Ashreen with a score of 96.9 per cent

and Abdul Hadi Muaiyyad bin Haji Azrol

with a score of 96.64 per cent. Consolation

prizes went to Iman binti Haji Muhammad

Fahmi and Aisyah Syamila binti Dr Haji Ga-

mal Abdul Nasir.

The winner in Category B was Najla Sa-

breena binti Haji Abdul Rajid with a score of

93.86 per cent. The irst and second runners-

up were Siti Nur Darwisyah binti Sabli with a

score of 91 per cent and Amir Sabrin bin Has-

miron with a score of 90.64 per cent. Moham-

ad Nur Raziqqien bin Abu Bakar and Amin bin

Zainuddin came in fourth and ifth places.

Mohammad Syabil bin Shahram took the

top spot in Category C with a score of 98.5

per cent, followed by Nur Najihah binti Alias

with a score of 98.24 per cent and Siti Asyiqin

binti Asmalee with a score of 96.21 per cent.

In fourth and ifth places were Nur Heesa

Mahrunnisaa binti Bambang Isyanto and

Mohammad Azimin @ Abdul Basit bin Rajid.

The winner of Category D was Dayangku

Nurfaiezah binti Pengiran Haji Kamaluddin

with a score of 96.05 per cent. The irst and

second runners-up were Muhammad Azib

bin Muhammad Azim with a score of 95.84

per cent and Haji Muhammad Bazli Ra’if bin

Haji Zulki li with a score of 94.73 per cent.

In fourth and ifth places were Nor Asilah

binti Haji Putting and Mohd Asmawi bin Haji

Abu Bakar.

Abdul Aziz bin Noor Nasran took the top

spot in Category E with a score of 99.36 per

cent, followed by Muhammad Abu Hurairah

bin Arif in with a score of 97.34 per cent and

Aqilah binti Haji Ayop with a score of 96.34

per cent. In fourth and ifth places were

Muhammad Hisyamuddin bin Haji Mahadini

and Dayangku Nur Fatin Wahidah binti

Pengiran Muhammad Sallehin.
